Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) is a Japanese automobile brand.
Suzuki was established in 1909 as a manufacturer of looms and was incorporated in 1920. Suzuki's started building car protypes in 1937 based on the British Austin Seven, but due to World War II the project was abandoned.
In the end of 1951 Suzuki started to design an engine for attachment to bicycles. Production of the 1 hp two-stroke 36cc engine started in 1952 and displacment and model range grew into a wide range of mopeds and motorcycles.
In 1955 Suzuki started production of cars, the Suzulight brand. The design was based on the German Lloyd LP400, a small car with a 0.4 liter two-stroke engine. This developed into the Carry range, introduced in 1961 as microtrucks and microvans.
Suzuki LJ Series, a small 4-wheel drive vehicle, were introduced in 1968. The second generation, The Suzuki Samurai (LJ413) started selling in the US in 1985 as 1986 model year.

The Sidekick (also sold as Chevrolet and Geo Tracker) and Swift modeles came to the US market in 1989. The name was later changed to Vitara. The XL-7 was sold from 2001-2009. the Equator mid-size pickup truck, a rebadged Nissan Frontier, came on sale in 2008.
Suzuki ended car sales in the US at the end of 2012.

Suzuki SX4 Owners Manual
The Suzuki SX4 is a crossover car developed jointly by Suzuki and Fiat. In some European markets the SX4 is sold as the Fiat Sedici, and in some Asian markets as the Maruti Suzuki SX4.
The Suzuki SX4 sedan, Sportback hatchback and Crossover have a four-cylinder engine that produces 150 hp. Depending on the market, it is available with petrol engines in the 1.5–2.0 litre range, and Fiat's 1.3–2.0 litre range diesel engine. The hatchback is also available with 4WD. It is available in hatchback and, for some markets, sedan body. Especially in the hatchback version, SX4 occupies a specific market niche of Mini SUV crossovers. It have good acceleration, as long as it’s paired with the standard six-speed manual transmission. The strength of the SX4’s engine is proportional to its revolutions. When power is required, a quick stab of the throttle has the engine revolutions jump into the higher end of the rev range and instant torque is on hand. Where the automatic SX4 felt lively and sporty, the 2WD manual variant we tested felt lethargic and gutless in comparison.
The SX4 main competitor is the Subaru Impreza and Nissan Juke. Four-wheel drive isn’t standard on the Juke, but it is optional. Although originally intended solely for Europe, the SX4 is sold in most of Suzuki's international markets.
